When Doctors Get It Wrong

Accurately diagnosing illness is one of a physician’s most critical responsibilities. When there is a delay in diagnosing a serious condition or a condition is misdiagnosed or not diagnosed at all, patients may lose the opportunity for timely and effective treatment. This can often result in serious consequences including permanent harm or premature death.

The strength of a misdiagnosis claim often depends on the nature of the illness, how readily it should have been identified and how treatable it would have been if caught in time.
